Nicky and Chris have 25 years’ experience of supporting children’s emotional well-being and development. In that time they have worked with hundreds of schools, families and children of all ages.
Originally teachers, they then spent many years working together for Bristol Local Authority, they provided therapeutic support for children and were specialist advisers to schools on children’s behaviour and mental health. They created their independent consultancy, ‘Not Just Behaviour’ in 2007.
Nicky and Chris work in schools, universities and companies, and train nationally on all aspects of behaviour management and children’s mental health. They also support parents, providing individual consultations and running parenting groups and seminars.
They have a particular interest in children’s body image, and co-authored the award-winning book, ‘Body Image in the Primary School’. (David Fulton 2011)
They work internationally to promote the importance of children’s self-esteem and body confidence and advise the government on children’s body image.
Passionate campaigners for body image education, they appear frequently in the media providing expert views and commentary in this important field.
In 2012, they received a parliamentary award in recognition of their work.
Nicky and Chris are both parents and live in the South West.
